Senen Terminal will Be Revitalized

The condition of the Senen Terminal, Central Jakarta, is getting chaotic and worrying. Hence, in the near future, the terminal will be revitalized. 

Terminal looks dirty, I prefer to wait the bus outside

Moreover, the unorganized public transport in terminal is often causing traffic congestion. It is worsened with dozens of vendors opening their stall near terminal and even many of the public transport crews often peeing carelessly. It obviously makes the passengers complain.  

"Terminal looks dirty, I prefer to wait the bus outside," complained Ferdi (29), one of the passengers, Thursday (5/28).

E. Jakarta Mayor Ensures Pulogebang Terminal Ready to Operate

Muslim, Head of Terminal Management Unit for Jakarta Transportation Department stated, the revitalization plan has been proposed. Yet it is still waiting for PD Pasar Jaya readiness to revitalize the Senen Market Block VI which is located nearby the terminal.

"We're still waiting for readiness and design of PD Pasar Jaya, as the terminal will be integrated and connected with the market," told former Head of Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department. 

Separately, Public Relations Manager for PD Pasar Jaya, Agus Lamun explained the Senen Market Block IV construction is still waiting for vendors' agreement inside market. 

"We keep intensifying socialization to the vendors, if the agreement reaches 60 percent, we can relocate them soon. Thus, the integrated terminal with market could be built immediately," disclosed Lamun.
